Just to let you know. The new Marco Minnemann play along book is awesome! 7 Great (and complex) tunes including the "hit" Golden Dolphin.

That "Extreme Inter-dependence" book of his [w forward from & endorsed by Virgil & Rick Gratton] ain't no joke either.

The Green Mind Bomb had some amazing contempo fusion playing on there too.

If I remember correctly, there's this one part of a tune where Marco literally slows down & speeds up the groove within the unmoving bass ostinato...pretty slick/sick shtuff.

I know guys like Rick Gratton, Dennis, Vinnie, Weckl, & Virg use this type of rhythmic motif to raise some eyebrows every now & then [img]eek.gif[/img] [img]graemlins/thinking.gif[/img] , but I've only heard Gratton do it as literally [on the PIT vid with drummer Paul DeLong from Canadian Kim Mitchell fame] [img]cool.gif[/img]

Yeah, quitou, GOOD call.

Some nice lessons on Rick's site.

He's way up there....a real mofro.

He's also another "whiz-kid" phenom at "metric modulation" / note (dis)placement like Vinnie, Virg, Dennis, Weckl, Marco. VERY underrated player. Shouldve named him in that "underrated/overrated" topic.

If you guys put DiCenso up there with Vinnie, Weckl, Virgil, Dennis, Novak, etc, then I'd put Rick up there with DiCenso. He's downright da** scary on that PIT vid ['90] mentioned in my first post above. I can only imagine how the guy's improved in the 13+ years since then. [img]eek.gif[/img] I'm just busy trying to get to where he was then.

They all are from Marco's various solo CD's.

The book also has exercises and explanations on how to play the more advanced parts of the tunes.

A Great book!!

if you guys head over to Rick gratton's web page, he has posted some corrections on his site for few pages of Marco's new book...it'll at least give you guys a look at some of the stuff being played in the book...I think the URL is:
